The Conservation District is sponsoring a photo contest for amateur photographers. The contest is open to people who do not take pictures for profit. You can enter photos in four different categories including agriculture, wildlife, people enjoying nature, or plants/landscapes. Examples of photos for the categories are Agriculture - anything from a fields, livestock, to 4H youth, Wildlife - deer running through the woods or a bird nest in an urban neighborhood, People enjoying nature - canoeing, hiking, and gardening, Plants and Landscapes - sunsets, city parks or other impressive views are appropriate for this category. You may submit one photo per category, however only one prize will be awarded per person. The photos must be taken in Eaton County.
If you like to take pictures and would like to enter a photo, call or stop by the district office at 551 Courthouse Dr., Suite 3, or 517-543-5848, extension 5 for an entry form. Entry forms are also available here. We recommend that pictures be submitted on photo paper and be approx 8x10 in size. Photos must be received at the office by November 7th, 2014. The District will award prizes in each category and the overall winning photo will be featured on the cover of the annual report.
